Drives for Intelligent Robots
Summary
The lecture focusses on the requirements that robotics systems imply on motors and drives and shows different drive designs matching these requirements. The control architecture - the balanacing of modularization and centralization of motion control - has a big effect on the overall roboter complexity and the quality of multi-axis motion. At the end the lecture presents a number of robotic application with maxon drives.
Resume
Dr. Urs Kafader - born 1963 in Sarnen, Switzerland, was awarded a physics degree and MBA from the Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich, and a doctorate from the UHA Mulhouse in France - started his career at the ETH Solid State Physics Department working on the epitaxy of semiconductor heterostructures. With a genuine interest in the impartion of technical knowledge, he attended lectures on general didactics and specialized training for technology education. For more than ten years, Dr. Kafader has been responsible for technical training at maxon motor. In this function, he has presented many training courses and seminars for the maxon staff and customers. He is the author of "The selection of high-precision microdrives" and also developed the maxon selection program. |
