Glitch in the website: Old students may receive exercises

Apparently a number of students from last year received an exercise notification. We're sorry for the glitch in the system. Of course, only students who are enrolled this year need to participate in the exercises! We're working on fixing the issue -- thanks for your understanding.

Student registration

Please remember that registering as a student (in order to participate in the exercises) is possible until 9 October (because on 10 October the groups are created and on 11 October exercise 2, the first group exercise, starts). Also, if you want to cancel your registration for any reason, please send an e-mail to info@shanghailectures.org by 9 October. Everyone who is registered as a student after 9 October is supposed to participate in the group exercises!

First lecture over

Update: The recording is now available from the Lectures page
After some technical issues (we had to replace our videoconferencing unit a few minutes before the planned start...) we finally managed to start with Lecture 1. Our apologies for the delay, but we think next week everything will be in place on time :-) There were a number of students who asked whether they could follow the lectures from home. At the moment, we can't offer a public "live stream", so the only way to attend "live" is to come to the lecture hall.

Registration for students will open on 27 September

While anyone can register as a member of the ShanghAI community at any time, students (who participate in the exercises) need to register as such. The registration for students will be open from 27 September. If you are going to attend the ShanghAI Lectures 2012 as a student, please do not register before 27 September. If you have already registered, please send an e-mail to Nathan. Please note that you need to register here regardless of any enrollment or registration for this course at your university.
